Tonone was founded in 2013 by designer Anton de Groof and is based in the Netherlands. Tonone's design team works with local craftsmen to produce their products. During the design and production process, the entire life cycle of the products is taken into account in terms of sustainability and efficiency.

Even today, the design team's vision of transforming traditional tools and mechanics into innovative lighting design is the basis of every design. Although the signature of De Groof and his team can be described as bold and functional, the newly developed designs have resulted in sophisticated, unobtrusive and intelligent lighting concepts. Even if the mechanics used are not always visible, Tonone's signature is recognizable in every detail of the lighting design.
